This year I began a personal photography project. I love hearing the stories of how people fell in love and how they committed to staying in love. While I love fictional stories of love in the movies, the true-to-life stories are the most inspiring. The stories of faithfulness and perseverance through the good time and the bad are stories that inspire me. I wrote a blog post requesting that people nominate couples in their lives that have been married for 35 years or longer. Instead of just doing an ordinary portrait session with them, I wanted to make it a little bit more of a project. The Love Story Session involves about an hour of sharing stories, reflecting on their lives together and then I photograph them for a one hour portrait session. After studying journalism in college I was a reporter for a local newspaper. I thought I could use that training and my passion for story telling to come up with something a little different. I wanted to record the story of how a couple fell in love and wanted to create an experience for them to look back on all their amazing years together and to rejoice in the love they’ve shared. So I have photographed two couples so far and it’s been a highlight of my year. I also send the couple’s a lengthy questionnaire to fill out to supply most of the answers for the Love Story Album. My life is being enriched by spending time with such amazing couples and their stories fill my heart with so much joy. I’m so excited to continue working on this personal photography project.

• General area they live in (must live within 60 miles of Frisco, Texas) or be willing to come to Frisco or Dallas for the session
• A short note about their relationship that makes you believe they exemplify a couple still committed and still in love
• A phone number and e-mail to contact the husband or wife
