I recently traveled out West with two dear photographer friends Maggie Hargrave & Lindsey Burns. We drove throughout the Southwest to photograph and enjoy some of the most beautiful areas of our country. We had an amazing time and although we had to detour our route because of weather, we found some amazing gems to photograph. We were lucky enough to see Antelope Canyon (a true photographer’s dream), The Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell, New Mexico, Crested Butte Colorado and more. Although I primarily photograph weddings, I have grown to love landscape photography and capturing the beautiful world God has created. I love nature, being outside, kayaking, and now hiking, and taking my camera on the journey is a very natural and fun thing for me to do. It was creatively invigorating to shoot something different and to really see the light. I was able to focus on light and to chase it throughout the countryside and I just loved it! haha. It’s totally a nerdy photographer thing, but seriously, it’s really fun to search for light patterns and highlights and to wake up for sunrise and stay out through sunset to enjoy this beautiful world. These are some of my favorites from my journey (and as you can imagine, it was difficult to narrow these down because I was basically taking pictures for 10 days in the desert – haha).
