In December, I traveled with the U.S. Department of State & The Center for Sport, Peace & Society. Inbetween the moments of documenting the work of the emerging leaders of the Global Sports Mentoring Program, I had a little downtime for some landscape photography work as well. My favorite adventure day on my trip to Egypt & Jordan was the day we spent in Petra. With the winter sun, we only had about five hours there, but as I walked through the Siq and came around the corner to see The Treasury carved into the rocks, I was overcome with emotion from the beautiful sight. It is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen and I loved the hikes we took through the canyons and to the top of The High Place of Sacrifice. I am so grateful for the opportunity to see this hidden treasure and to have been able to photograph parts of Petra. I hope that some of my favorite travel photographs of Petra do it justice.
